Information on the Polar Transmitter markings

The manufacturing code is used as the transmitter serial number on the service report sheet.

The manufacturing code of transmitters T31, T31C and T61 (latest style), will differ from those in PE40T and Coded Transmitter (older rectangular style) as shown above. (Note that the code is on the back side of this transmitter - PE40T and Coded Transmitter).
Note. Some of the PE40T style transmitters had "3 digits" ie. "039" as the manufacturing code instead of the circle coding.

When the transmitter is position as in the picture (see picture above), the manufacturing code will be on the right joint of the elastic strap and the transmitter. (Note that the code is on the front side of the latest style transmitter T31, T31C and T61).

Inside of the inner circle there are two numbers: the first number is manufacturing year (in the example below number 9 means year 1999). The second number is first digit of the manufacturing week. The arrow inside the inner circle points number, which is the second digit of the manufacturing week.

C-Tick

Polar products will soon be labelled with the Australian compliance symbol, the C-Tick mark, to indicate compliance with the Australian EMC and radiocommunication regulation and standards.

The EMC and radiocommunication framework has recently been introduced by the Australian authorities to manage the radiofrequency spectrum and protect the performance of electronic and communication products. A wide range of products are subject to compliance and must be appropriately labelled before being placed on the Australian market.

The Polar HRM products which fall within the scope of the regulation include the following

  • transmitters
  • chargers and their adapters.
  • interfaces.

  • The C-Tick mark will be taken into use in these products by the beginning of the year 2000. The format of the C-Tick mark to be used in Polar products is shown below.

The above C-Tick mark that appears on Polar products, has been licenced to Pursuit Performance Pty Ltd by the ACMA to distribute Polar products in Australia.

Non-authorised resellers who sell Polar products in Australia displaying the C-Tick compliance logo are in breach of the Australian compliance standard.
